Logicalis Earns Two IBM Cloud Specialty Designations

Logicalis, an international provider of integrated information and communications technology (ICT) solutions and services has reported that it has earned two Cloud Specialty designations from IBM. IBM’s Cloud Specialty designations provide a way to identify and honor those solution providers that have proven their competency with IBM solutions in cloud environments.

IBM’s Cloud Specialty program has a total of five designations which solution providers can work to attain. To be named a Cloud Specialty provider in any one of these areas, solution providers must take part in a stringent process that proves their capability in the designated area. Logicalis achieved the IBM recognition in both the Cloud Builder and Cloud Infrastructure solution areas of IBM’s Cloud Specialty program. It is rare that a solution provider qualifies for more than one distinction simultaneously, Logicalis says.

Cloud Builders engage in consultative and solution selling of multiple IBM offerings, providing the services and solutions necessary to help customers design and implement a private cloud infrastructure in their own data center environment.

Cloud Infrastructure providers operate a public Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) or Platform as a Service (PaaS) -- a managed public cloud -- on behalf of their customers.

“Logicalis is proud to have earned these prestigious distinctions from IBM, both of which are benchmarks that give customers a sense of satisfaction that Logicalis has proven its expertise using IBM solutions to design and implement private cloud solutions for our clients as well as to provide a managed cloud solution on their behalf,” notes John Iffert, vice president, IBM Solutions, for Logicalis. “We are proud of these achievements which will undoubtedly serve as a tool by which both current and prospective clients can gauge Logicalis’ expertise in the cloud market.”

Total Safety is a Logicalis cloud client that had a disaster recovery site project to implement.

“Knowing that Logicalis has the capability to help us with a private cloud for a timely, reliable failover meant we could depend on one company to provide the solution and it gave us a comfort level that the solution they provided would be tailored to our exact needs,” says Kevin Croteau, technical operations manager for Total Safety. “That’s exactly what happened: Logicalis designed the perfect cloud solution for us based on our project’s requirements and budget for an iSeries and BladeCenter-based VMware environment, and gave us a plan for future growth that makes smart business sense.”
