IBM Offers Complimentary Training Courses

IBM is offering up several free online instructor-led courses this summer as a way to introduce its customers to its latest technologies, as well as show off the company's online learning offerings. Solid plan, really. The classes are four hours long. Here's the AIX-covered classes:

 
Using PowerHA SystemMirror for AIX
This course is designed to teach an overview of the planning, configuration, and administration steps needed to implement a PowerHA SystemMirror for AIX 6.1 cluster. The course is aimed at students who have AIX administration skills and want to learn about implementing High Availability in a power p environment using the PowerHA SystemMirror for AIX 6.1 product.
 
Dates: July 15, September 23, October 7
 
Virtualization on POWER
In this session, the students will learn about the key IBM POWER Systems’ virtualization features that are exploited by AIX, Linux and IBM i.
 
Dates: July 12, September 20, October 4
 
AIX on Power
This half day test drive is intended to provide a taste of what IBM Training is provided for AIX administrators. It also provides an exposure to the Instructor Led On-line class delivery environment. The class is comprised of a sampling of materials taken from a variety of training courses.
 
Dates: Aug 10, Sept 14, Nov 9
 
IBM Systems Director 6.1 for Power Systems
This short course wills demonstration how one can use IBM Systems Director (ISD) to manage Power Systems environment. It will start with the first login to Systems Director and perform discovery, inventory collection, monitoring CPU utilization across partitions, creating thresholds and automation plans, software and firmware compliance management and energy monitoring. Additional areas will be demonstrated based on requests from session attendees and available time.
 
Dates: August 23, September 21, November 1
