IBM Offers Handy POWER7 Upgrade Program

If you could upgrade your POWER6-based Power Systems to get the new POWER7 processors without blowing out your budget, would you? Interested? IBM Global Financing has some programs in place that can help you upgrade to POWER7 without disruption to your enterprise, and the same time, you might even end up lowering your monthly payments.

Obviously, this sort of switcheroo works most seamlessly for customers who lease their boxes, but for those who own their own hardware, IBM will buy your old POWER6 system back to get the deal done.

IBM posted a video describing the process, and while it's not the slickest video to come out of IBM, it clearly makes the case for the program in just 52 seconds.
