Geminare Offers Recovery as a Service to the Enterprise

Geminare Incorporated has announced new enterprise editions of its Recovery as a Service (RaaS) portfolio. With Cloud Recovery 2.0 Enterprise and Cloud Storage Assurance (CSA) 2.0 Enterprise, Geminare's business continuity solution includes automatic file and email archiving, and fast search functions and built-in audit capabilities that Geminare says can be deployed in days instead of months and without capital investment.

Geminare's RaaS portfolio of services creates a failover server and replicates a customer's server environment in real-time to a cloud vendor of choice. The replicated environment engages seamlessly during system interruption or failure and includes the ability to archive data files, including emails, to any cloud provider, Geminare says. With its new Enterprise editions, Geminare has added support for popular enterprise operating systems including AIX, Linux, and other UNIX variants.

The company's RaaS service also features on-the-fly encryption, support for more than 250 servers per site, and integration with additional cloud providers as well as private clouds.

The Geminare portfolio of RaaS solutions is currently being white-labeled and successfully sold to the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) market through forward-looking technology vendors, cloud hosting providers and Telcos, such as Hosting.com, Qwest Communications, CA Technologies, Bell Canada, and Ingram Micro.

Solution Details

Cloud Recovery 2.0 Enterprise is based on Geminare's market-leading server replication offering. With Cloud Recovery 2.0 Enterprise, Geminare now supports the key operating systems that large enterprises depend on: AIX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Sun Solaris, and Windows support. Cloud Recovery 2.0 Enterprise also now includes hybrid hosting capabilities that allow private clouds to be utilized within an enterprise. The solution includes native support for up to 250 connected servers per Geminare Controller, with the ability to add multiple Controllers into a customer environment, removing any practical limit on the number of servers supported at a single site.

Geminare says its CSA 2.0 Enterprise is the first auditable archive and indexing platform that integrates with public cloud providers. CSA 2.0 Enterprise adds Nirvanix, AT&T Synaptic, Rackspace, and others to its roster of supported cloud providers, which previously included Amazon S3, Iron Mountain Archive Service, and Mezeo. Also new to CSA 2.0 Enterprise is the ability to do on-the-fly encryption of data stored in the cloud and to run in indexing-only mode. Geminare has also incorporated into the enterprise edition rapid e-discovery tools and reporting capabilities that deliver unprecedented value to any enterprise archiving solution.

"Our Cloud Recovery and Cloud Storage Assurance solutions have enabled partners to deliver world-class business continuity and disaster recovery solutions to their customers," notes Joshua Geist, CEO of Geminare. "With these new enterprise-class capabilities, even large-scale organizations can legitimately choose the cloud for their DR and BC needs. This constitutes a natural progression of our RaaS portfolio. Our new enterprise editions provide a tremendous opportunity for existing and new channel partners to bring essential cloud technologies to their largest accounts today."
